The Kapwa project
In the Philippines, the health emergency caused by the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic has largely hindered the efforts to combat poverty and inequality. This dramatic context has particularly affected citizens belonging to the most vulnerable areas of society, drastically worsening their living conditions.
The Kapwa Project took place mainly in the communities of the island of Mindoro: we donated food parcels to 700 families, distributed school supplies (tablets, printer cartridges and paper for distance-learning) to 13 elementary schools and provided 2,500 citizens with face masks produced by local tailors.
Also in Italy, in Padua, in partnership with the Philippine Women’s Association, we distributed food parcels to 15 Filipino families who were impacted by the pandemic and lost their jobs.
