Food Security - School Feeding Project

The FOOD SECURITY – SCHOOL FEEDING project aims to provide the necessary food ingredients to prepare nutritious and balanced meals for the 350 indigenous Mangyan students attending the two elementary schools in Adong and Lantuyang, in the most remote villages of Mindoro Island in the Philippines.

The goal is to intervene to promote students’ education, increase their school attendance, and reduce the severe malnutrition observed.

A fundamental role in the implementation of the project is played by various local partners. Not only will Kito be able to rely on the contribution of some mothers who will cook for the children, but also on the collaboration of both elementary schools involved in the project and the Filipino Department of Education.

Moreover, thanks to the construction of a canteen, Kito has been able to equip the two schools with countertops, cooking corners, and tables where meals can be prepared and served.
